First Deputy General Director
TsNIGRI
Aleksander Chernykh graduated from the Novosibirsk State University; in 1993-2000, he worked at the Joint Institute of Geology, Geophysics, and Mineralogy, Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences, where he supported a Ph.D. thesis in petrology and volcanology. In 2000-2009, he specialized in production geology, in FSUE Zapsibgeolsyomka. In 2009, he moved on to JSC SNIIGGiMS where, as Head of nonfuel minerals department and Deputy General Director in science, he studied Siberian metallogeny (precious, base, rare and radioactive metals) and performed research to validate prospective geological and economic gold mineralization types in the Altai-Sayan folded belt. Since April 2016 up to the present, he holds the position of the First Deputy General Director in FSBI “TsNIGRI”.
Mineralogical and geochemical methods of forecasting and prospecting for concealed and overlapped gold and base metal mineralization
Potential use of selected mineralogical and geochemical methods of forecasting and prospecting for concealed and overlapped gold and base metal mineralization is presented. The technique and approval results of the ion sorption (Au, Pb, Zn, Cu) method for concealed deposits and the geological-mineralogical-geochemical (Au) method for overlapped deposits, both developed by FSBI “TsNIGRI”, are shown. A set of benchmark geological-mineralogical-geochemical guides is proposed to increase forecasting reliability of various concealed mineralization types and develop more valid forecasting-prospecting models. Features of overlapped gold deposit prospecting in complex landscape/geomorphology conditions have been identified.
