The finalists of the 12th Russian Mining Excellence Awards have been selected.
This prestigious award established by MINEX Forum is presented to companies and managers for outstanding services in the development of the Russian mining and geological industries.
The finalists and winners are determined by an independent award committee consisting of leading experts.
The presentation of the awards to the finalists and the announcement of the winners of the 12th Russian Mountain Award will take place in the gala dinner that closes the work of the forum on October 4, 2018.
The finalists and their achievements are presented in the following six categories:

GEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION PROJECT OF THE YEAR |

| Polymetal International | Application of small-size drill rig during prospection and exploration as an alternative to drill roads approval and construction | |
| GDK Baimskaya | More than 100 thousand lm of exploration drilling for 2015-2018 at the Peschanka copper-porphyry deposit, which secured a double increase in proven reserves of sulphide ore from 3.4 million tons to 6.4 million tons, with more than 70% classified in categories В + С1. | |
| Highland Gold Mining | 320% increase in mineral resources and reserves resulted from the development of the Belaya Gora and Blagodatnoye deposits. The total operating costs will be $848 per ounce, securing a return of more than 40%. | |

| Kolmar Managing Company | Construction and commissioning within a very short timeframe – less than 1 year – of the Denisovskaya Coal Processing Plant, processing hard coking coals with a capacity of up to 7 million tons per year. The modern technological equipment of AVIC company and ecologically advantageous scheme of closed water-slurry with sheltered warehouses for coal and products are applied. | |
| Nordgold | The launch of the field Gross in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), to produce 12 million tons of ore and approximately 230,000 ounces of gold per year for 17 years | |

| Polyus | Launch of Natalka Mining and Processing Plant – the first gold smelting of Dore in December 2017. After reaching the designed capacity, the plant will provide the company with leadership in gold mining in the Russian Far East. | |
| Kinross Gold | Development of Zone 1 at the mine “Dvoynoy” in Chukotka. | |
| GV Gold | Investment project of Ughahan Mine, the town-forming enterprise of Bodaibo District. The project facilitates more than 800 jobs and infrastructure development in the region. Tax deductions to the budget will rise to 350 million rubles a year after reaching the designed capacity of the mine. | |

| Kolmar Managing Company | Investments of 150 billion rubles in MPC Denisovsky, MPC Inaglinsky and the seaport. Since 2017 the investments to projects have reached 35 bn rubles. | |
| Pavlik Gold Ore Company | Pavlik project in the Far East demonstrating modern equipment and purely Russian investments. The project showed the largest output in the industry, processing 4.9 million tons of ore and producing 6.8 tons of gold with 15% increase over the year before. | |
